Alfred Horie Construction Co. Ltd. has built and renovated a wide variety of commercial projects throughout B.C. during its long company history. Projects include, warehouses, office buildings, restaurants, truck terminals and retail stores, A team approach with the various consultants and trades is used on every project in order to meet today's demanding schedules and budgets.
Since 1990, Alfred Horie Construction Co. Ltd. has built over 35 new McDonald's Restaurants and renovated numerous others. Freestanding restaurants are completed, on average, in 12 weeks from the start of construction to the customer ordering their meal at the counter. The Express Restaurants, which
are done in existing buildings, take an average 4 weeks to complete. To accommodate the wishes of the client, McDonalds Restaurants Canada, no restaurant is ever shut down during a renovation. Alfred Horie professionals
and associated trades work diligently to ensure store revenues are maintained and completion dates are achieved. McDonalds Canada, Alfred Horie was awarded with the opportunity to build the McDonalds' in Vancouver's Kerrisdale location. It was the first of its kind – a two-story structural steel and heavy timber building in Canada. The entire project took 13 weeks including the demolition of the existing 25-year-old restaurant, as well as removing and replacing more than 52,000 cubic feet of soil.
Alfred Horie Construction Co Ltd. has renovated and repaired numerous IGA Grocery Stores throughout the Vancouver region. During all of these projects, the IGA Stores have been open for business and never lost a business day due to construction. In working in collaboration with the IGA owners and management, renovation design ideas were generated by the Alfred Horie team to include a 90-year-old fir floor and drop ceiling to create a market-like concept for their Langley location. The concepts were not only unique and enjoyed by their clientele, but also cost-effective and practical.
